Less Waiting We have the capability to perform most tests needed to diagnose common health problems in our hospital. Having in-house diagnostics means that instead of waiting 24 hours, or longer, for your pet’s test results, you will receive answers in 30 to 60 minutes, in most cases. That way, your pet can receive treatment, and start feeling better faster.  While your pet’s veterinary visit always begins with a thorough exam, which allows us to quickly gain a snapshot of their overall health, we often need more in-depth information. This is where diagnostic testing comes in. Whether to help screen for disease, or confirm a suspected illness in a sick pet, diagnostic testing provides important information that allows us to gain a more complete picture of your pet’s health.  We Go Deeper

In-House Laboratory

Since we never know what surprising issues your pet may bring through our door, we are equipped to handle most diagnostic testing in-house. Using state-of-the-art laboratory equipment, our skilled technicians are able to perform a variety of diagnostic tests, including:

Bloodwork

Your pet’s blood can tell us a lot about their health. A complete blood count (CBC) measures the amounts of red

Urinalysis

After collecting a urine sample, we can test for multiple different chemicals and waste products to learn about

Parasite screening

Although you may not want to look at your pet’s poop, we do! By microscopically analyzing your pet’s feces

Feline Viral Testing

We recommend screening every new cat for common viral diseases, including feline leukemia and feline

Heartworm Disease Screening

With only a few drops of blood and 10 minutes, we can screen for deadly heartworm disease in your dog.

While we can cover the majority of diagnostic testing your pet may require, more advanced testing is sometimes needed. In these cases, we will send samples to a veterinary reference laboratory to help us reach an accurate diagnosis.

Digital Radiography

If your pet’s illness or injury requires diagnostic imaging, we can take X-rays in-house, instead of referring you to another facility. Our digital X-ray unit allows us to obtain diagnostic images quickly, with little to no stress or discomfort to your pet. X-rays help us diagnose a variety of conditions, including:

  • Bone fractures
  • Orthopedic injuries and abnormalities
  • Gastrointestinal foreign bodies
  • Bladder stones

  • Heart failure
  • Pneumonia
  • Tracheal collapse
  • Abnormal fluid accumulation
