Sarah Guengerich, DVM

Dr. Guengerich started at El Paso Animal Hospital in July 2019.  She has previous experience in small animal practice, feline-only practice, and emergency practice. In 2015 she worked at El Paso as a veterinarian on Saturdays. She graduated with honors from Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2011. Her hobbies include knitting, crochet, and spending time with her family.

Rachel Hand, DVM

Dr. Hand joined our team in June 2020. She grew up in Colwich, Kansas and received her bachelor's degree from Kansas State University, College of Animal Science in December 2015 and her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine, class of 2020.

She enjoys working out, horseback riding, most all outdoor activities, cooking, exploring her green thumb & spending time with her dog, Kato, a seven-year-old male/shepherd mix. She adopted Kato five years before starting vet school and he has been the best companion.

Jeffrey Herod, DVM

Dr. Herod grew up in Garden City, Kansas, and went directly to Kansas State University. After receiving his undergraduate degree in Animal Science he went to KSU College of Veterinary Medicine where he graduated in 1988. He started working at El Paso Animal Hospital with Dr. Oehmke directly out of college and later became a partner in the practice. Dr. Herod married his wife Becki in 2003 and they have three daughters - Elliot, Emersyn & Edisyn and one son - Carter. Dr. Herod spent many years raising, breeding, and competing German Shorthaired Pointers but now spends most of his time raising kids and fishing.

Kristen Horsley, DVM

Dr. Horsley joined our team the summer of 2020. She graduated from Colorado State University with a Bachelor of Science degree and then from Texas A&M University with a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine.

Upon graduation she spent 2 years at Wheat Ridge Animal Hospital in Denver, CO completing a Small Animal Rotating Internship and Surgical Internship. She then spent time as an instructor of the Junior Surgery course at Louisiana State University.

Dr. Horsley is originally from Round Rock, Texas. She enjoys running, soccer, kayaking and jigsaw puzzles. She has a domestic short hair cat named Cribbage.

Erica McKinney, DVM

Dr. McKinney grew up in Derby and graduated from Derby H.S. in 1994. She worked at El Paso Animal Hospital during college as a technician. After receiving her Veterinarian degree in 2002, she worked as a veterinarian in Las Vegas and Memphis, TN before moving back to Kansas in 2006. She has worked as a veterinarian at El Paso Animal Hospital since October, 2006.

Landon McQuilliams, DVM

Dr. McQuilliams joined our team in June, 2017 right out of college. He graduated from Kansas State University with his doctorate of Veterinary Medicine and a bachelor's degree in Animal Science. He enjoys singing, softball, and reading a good book.

Lynn Mork, DVM

Dr. Mork began working for El Paso Animal Hospital as a full time veterinarian in July, 2014.  She comes to us with a wealth of great experience.  She spent 14 years working at the Veterinary & Emergency Specialty Hospital of Wichita where she worked as an Emergency Veterinarian.  Prior to that she worked 4 years for Bayer Pharmaceuticals in clinical trials and bovine virology labs.  Her areas of interest include Geriatric Medicine, Oncology, Internal Medicine, and Emergency and Critical Care.

She has been married to her husband Jeff since 1997 and has four children, Alex, Emily, Christopher, and Mikenna.  Her hobbies include watching kids sporting events, helping kids in 4-H, service projects in the community, attending church at Calvary UMC, reading, and home design/crafts.

Gary Oehmke, DVM

Gary was born and raised in the small town of Linn, Kansas. Gary attended K State from 1972 – 1978 (2 years of undergrad and then 4 years of vet school). After graduation Dr. Oehmke worked in Kansas City for 3 months and then started El Paso Animal Hospital in December 1978.

Dr. Oehmke married his wife Debbie in May 1977. They have two daughters, Jessie and Jenny, and six grandchildren. Their oldest daughter lives in Colorado with her husband and two children, the other lives in Manhattan, KS with her husband and four boys. Dr. Oehmke's youngest daughter, Jenny, is a veterinarian as well as his brother-in-law and brother, so it's a vet family. Dr. Oehmke's hobbies include riding his bike, running, and traveling.
